Wow it's been ages since I updated this journal. I think I stopped updating because I became very busy with raiding with Delusion for a while. Panadoll geared up heaps, became one of Delusion's top healers & priest class leader, and cleared all 10 and 25 man content - with some difficulty, because Delusion was never particularly organised and had a lot of bads. Actually, I don't think Panadoll has actually gotten the 10 man Maly achievement yet. 0_0 (I did eventually work out my problems with third phase Maly btw.) She's pretty much as geared as she can be now & ready for Ulduar, almost full tier 7.5, with the exception of helm, and she looks like this:

Unfortunately, I had a lot of problems with Delusion, and I wasn't the only one. There was heaps of drama, mainly caused by the terrible way the guild was run and the actions of the guild leader and her boyfriend, and after finding out something particularly nasty I finally gquit. Damager - the mage and raid leader of Delusion I mentioned before in this journal and who I'm now in a relationship with <3 - left soon after, throwing the whole guild into turmoil because he was really keeping the whole thing together. Lots of other people also gquit. Damager and I applied to join Twisted Faith, a much more organised & progressed guild on our server. Damager was accepted into the guild almost immediately. It took me a little while longer, because although I was told my guild application was excellent it took a while for the heals leader to find time to talk to me. Finally he asked me to log on to their vent to have a chat. The first question I was asked was, "why disc?" Twisted Faith wasn't actually looking for disc priests, they were looking for holy priests, and they asked me if I'd be willing to respec. I think I managed to convince them to give me a chance to show them what I could do as disc, because I am extremely confident with my heals as disc - raiding with Delusion I was often second or third on heal metres despite my single target healing discness. They seemed to like me anyway and offered me a raiding spot with their guild, which I very happily accepted. Shortly therafter, I was invited to their 25man Naxx as a replacement (usually people in the guild have to sign up in advance for raids). I was very nervous because I wanted to impress them, and I don't think I did too badly. Their healers were much better than Delusion's healers though and although I kept up with them through most of the raid I started losing concentration a bit towards the end and dropped down to 5th overall on the heal metre. I was extremely happy though, to clear 25 Naxx in one night - Delusion only ever managed it over two nights. I also got my tier 7.5 chest out of the run. :)
Today I was logged onto an alt I've been levelling with Damager (and occasionally other friends' alts), a little 20-something mage called Dollfase, when Twisted Faith's raid leader whispered me to ask if I'd be interested in taking my shadowpriest to the guild's 25 Naxx alt run that night. I told him I'd really like to but Panacea is hardly geared for 10man Naxx. He said that he didn't really care about gear, he just wanted someone experienced who could MC on Instructor (which I had successfully done on Panadoll the night before). So I told him I'd give it a go. I think I was even more nervous than I was raiding with them on Panadoll, because Panacea's gear was so bad, not gemmed, not enchanted, no glyphs, and a really bad rotation that I'd been meaning to work on for ages. So I fixed everything I could, worked out a new rotation which I tested extensively on dummies & dueling Damager, and ended up going to the raid semi-confident but still nervous. I actually did far far better than I thought I would - I never actually realised how powerful my aoe (Mind Sear) is. I think I ended up 6th or 7th on dps overall. I really enjoyed myself too - dps is much less stressful than healing (though I will always love healing the best ^_^). Panacea also got three new awesome pieces of gear - Digested Silken Robes from Maexxna, Touch of Horror from Gothik, and Mantle of the Corrupted from Four Horsemen. Panacea now looks like this:

We stopped the run after the DK quarter, because it was 1am and the raid (being an alt run) had gone on for far too long already. We'll be picking it up again tomorrow.. should be fun ^_^ I'm liking gearing up again. :)

hmm, much better :P Still not great, but better. I went & did all of Panacea's training I'd been neglecting from 70, which helped a lot. :PP I also did some reading and have started trying to pick my upgrades better. My spell rotation I think is ok. I just need to gear up.
Panadoll meanwhile is doing awesome. :D I have almost full t7/7.5 now (except for helm) and my spellpower unbuffed is now over 2k, which I'm very pleased about. I actually recently replaced my t7 robe with Heigan's Putrid Vestments. I didn't actually roll on this robe when it dropped, but nobody else wanted it so it was looted to me for disenchanting. After the raid I had a proper look at it and was like 'o_o this is better than my t7' lol :P So I kept it :D I'm kinda glad to have some hit finally, mostly because there are a couple bosses in 25man Naxx where I need to MC.
Delusion has been attempting 25man Naxx this week. I think it was a good experiment, but I don't think we're quite ready for it. Arachnid went down ok, as did Plague (Heigan was fun as usual but there was a lot of fail there.. I tried to yell at people for not helping to cleanse but my mic decided to fuck up right at that moment -_-). Last night we got Patchwerk down and proceeded to Grobbulus, where several people were just too nub to figure out what they were supposed to do. People got angry and yelled (which was amusing to me at the time & helped me get over my own anger). This kind of fail should not be happening at this point - having to sit there while the fight is explained yet again is so frustratingly tedious. We have told people to read up on strats before they come to Naxx, but I get the feeling some of the dps just expect to be carried through. doesn't work that way! ><
Anyways, there was discussion afterwards with several core members on what to do about the bads. I think we decided in the end not to do anymore 25mans for a while, and instead try two 10man Naxx groups this week. We have enough heals, hopefully enough tanks, and I'm pretty sure we have enough non-retarded dps to fill two groups. I'm actually hoping to get Panacea into the second Naxx group if possible (she's 79 right now, planning to try to get her to 80 today).. obviously her dps will be terribad at first but at least I know all the fights.

WoW has been so fun lately. I think I'm addicted to my friends in game and guild more than anything else. It's been a pretty productive week so far.. Panadoll did a couple of 25man VoA's, and in the first one (organised by Damager, with a lot of guildies) she got t7.5 pants. :D In the second one, which I did this afternoon (I was invited by Leth) she got t7.5 gloves. :D So, so awesome xDD~
Mostly I've been levelling Panacea lately. At first, I was hating her mana regen.. I had the same problem in the early 70's levelling Panadoll. 0 regen while casting? badness. But I had been playing Panadoll for so long that I completely forgot about my dispersion for a while. >< Mana regen now is ok. Not as good as Panadoll's obviously (Panadoll never ever needs to drink) but a lot better now that I'm using my shadowfiend & dispersion a lot more, and since I put a point into Meditation. Panacea is level 75 now, almost 76. I'm working towards this build at 80.
need more instances for Panacea. It's so much harder to find groups as dps. >< I get heaps of whispers all the time asking if I'm heals, if I will respec heals (no goddammit, if I wanted to heal I'd play my disc priest) etc. beh :P

(in case you can't tell, I'm standing 7th from the left - or technically 3rd from the right :P)

We've had a really good run of Naxx over the last couple of days, culminating in our downing of Sapphiron - an awesome effort on everyone's part, as the main tank Raltor d/c'd with Sapphi around just under 10%. o_o He didn't get the achievement, which sucked. But he did get the key that dropped when he came back on to distribute loot. We plan to finish off Kel'Thuzad tomorrow. :)
I got many good things! ^_^ Resurgent Phantom Bindings from Gothik, a chest from Four Horsemen which I should never have rolled for (it had hit rating, should have gone to the lock), Ring of Holy Cleansing from Heigan, Agonal Sash from Anub'Rekan (upgrade over the epic belt I got last time), and best loots of all: Infection Repulser from Grobbulus (this mace looks so cool ^_^), and my first piece of T7, Chestguard of the Lost Conqueror from Gluth - with which I bought Heroes' Robe of Faith :D Hm, I think I did pretty well xD

I had a pretty crappy day today, but learned some important lessons & have some plans to improve my game.
Still feeling bad about not being prepared in the slightest for Naxx last night, I didn't log on til very late in the day, and then just hung around SW levelling my professions. Until a guildie asked me to come heal heroic Occulus. Stupidly I agreed to go. There was some kind of comment about me from another guildie in the group which I assumed referred to my bad performance in Naxx, so I already had a bit of nervous tension going when the run started. As we were clearing to the first boss, I started thinking that I wouldn't be able to do this. I died once on the trash, which wasn't a good sign, and I was having major issues keeping up with healing the tank (let alone everyone else). I thought at first that it was because I was getting some lag, as well as the fact that I was feeling sluggish and down about my healing, but on the first boss it became painfully clear that I was far, far too undergeared for this. I just could not keep up with healing the tank, as well as the rest of the party - I was working my ass off, but my heals just weren't cutting it. The rest of the party could plainly see that I was doing terribly, and after several wipes I told them to find another healer because I just couldn't do it. The most embarrassing thing was the fact that they (two of them anyways) began talking down to me at this point, suggesting ridiculously easy things for me to go do & implying that I was a bad healer, rather than undergeared. I got the feeling that they did this rather than the jocular poking-fun that they usually do with other guildies, because I'm a girl. That's the impression I got anyway. It made me feel pretty fucking crap.
I logged for a while to do RL stuff, then later put myself on DND and headed over to Icecrown to quest. Someone on
wow_ladies mentioned a good quest reward from the "ring of blood type event" in Icecrown, that apparently replaced some of their t6 gear. I did some research and found the quest chain I needed to do to get this, and spent a couple of hours working through it. I got a fair way through the chain before shutdown. I quite like Icecrown, but man I have decided that I *hate* questing as deep holy. Tomorrow I plan to respec deep disc - I really don't care if Twelve wants me to be deep disc or not. As far as I know there are no other deep disc priests in the guild, so maybe I'll be useful. CoH has not lived up to my expectations, so I'm not fussed about losing it. I really did enjoy being disc while levelling and got used to it.. so I'm looking forward to the respec. I just hope that I'll still be able to heal 5-mans effectively. I don't really see why I shouldn't be able to though.
So my plan for tomorrow is.. respec deep disc, finish the quest chain in Icecrown, level professions a little more. And then in the evening maybe find a group for heroic Nexus (there's a mace I want from there) or a group for one of the higher level or level 80 normal instances. Trying to do Naxx & heroic Occulus right after hitting 80 was a stupid mistake. My brother told me afterwards that h Occulus is supposed to be the hardest heroic. -_- I think I got duped by everyone in the guild going on about how the game has been so nerfed, and everything at 80 is supposedly so easy.

Tonight Panadoll went with Twelve to ZA! :O It was a little hectic as I'd never been there before of course, and also it was a timed run. o_o But it wasn't too difficult, all the bosses went down fairly quickly. And Panadoll got so much nice stuff xD So finally, she has graduated out of her PMC set.. so glad I got to do that before WotLK ^o^
I got Robe of Departed Spirits from Halazzi, Cloak of Ancient Rituals from Hex Lord Malacrass and Mantle of Ill Intent from a chest. :D Panadoll is looking pretty awesome now ^_^

I'm not sure if the Swiftheal Mantle I made is better or worse than the Mantle of Ill Intent.. I get the feeling it's probably a sidegrade. /shrug

Yesterday was a busy day.. In the morning, Panadoll ran heroic BM with my brother and his friend (Hannika and Soffscia). It was my first ever heroic. Panadoll went as DPS, lol. xD It was ridiculously easy. :P Then afterwards, Panacea ran heroic Slabs with them, which was also ridiculously easy.. we 4-manned most of it. :P I am quite liking these nerfs! Gives me more of a chance to see content & loots. :D
Verd was getting a Kara group together after that, so I joined up. We had the whole group together & summoned, but we couldn't zone in to Kara.. all the instances were down, which meant everyone got stuck trying to get through the portal. This had also happened earlier when we'd been doing the heroics, but the instance servers came back up after a while. The Kara group stuck together for a bit hoping the instances would come back up, but eventually fell apart. I got my Swamp of Sorrows and Blasted Lands exploration achievements done, then headed back through the Dark Portal. :P
There was horrible, horrible lag in the afternoon. This lag really did not like my mind flay and mind blast spells for some reason. Still, I had to go do my Isle dailies, so I persisted through the lag to get them done. If I didn't know better, I'd swear the Horde wasn't lagging at all. -______-; After the dailies, I headed over to Nagrand to farm up the last of the primal waters I needed for my FSW robe, then flew over to Terrokar to gather the last of the netherweb spider silk I needed. Then - finally! - I made my Frozen Shadoweave Robe!! :DDDDD
( screenie of the making under here )
yeh I did actually stop right there, among the spiders, to make the robe as soon as I got the last of the mats :P Anyways, Panacea looks like this now :)

I took her to the Dark Portal to take pics of her in her FSW set, like I did when Panadoll got her PMC set (hence new icon ^_^). Panacea doesn't seem to like having her picture taken as much as Panadoll though.. maybe she feels naked out of shadowform :P
Later on in the evening I logged onto Panadoll to do her Skyguard dailies. I wasn't planning to do much else (cos it was late), but after I'd finished them I got kinda caught up in doing exploration achievements.. in the end, I finished up all of the Outland exploration achievements, and got all the Outland Hallow's End candy along the way, and went to bed way too late. xD

I wasn't planning to do much on WoW today.. kinda wanted to have a bit of a rest from all the instancing, and just do dailies and farm rep. I logged onto Panadoll to do the Quel Danas dailies. While I was there Lutzi (on Fuzo) began organising a Kara raid for Leokadia, who had just dinged 70. I remember back in the day when Panacea was just a little level 11 running around Loch Modan and ran into Leokadia, then level 42, and thinking I'd never catch up to her. xD /nostalgia :P Anyways, I asked Lutzi if Panacea could come along to the Kara run, and he said ok. So I logged over to Panacea, and immediately got the nervous shakey adrenaline feeling I always get whenever I raid with Twelve - partly of course because they are all so much more experienced and awesome at this game than me, and partly because this was to be Panacea's first time in Kara.. my first attempt at DPSing in a real raid.
Kara was awesome fun! I think I did pretty well, though I had a little trouble in the beginning with targeting mobs, as my usual way of doing it in instances is to just click on the tank's target, next to their name, but in a raid my frames are different and don't show the mob the tank's attacking unless I target the tank first. I got used to it after a while though. Of course I was way down the damage metres, usually in about 6th spot, but I did manage to get up to 4th a couple of times. :D I shackled my assigned mob like a pro on Moroes, and did quite well on the other bosses too, except for Nightbane and Shade of Aran. On Nightbane I died early on because I didn't have my visual settings set high enough and couldn't see the charred earth, and therefore died cos I was standing in it. >< Shade of Aran remains my most hated of Kara bosses; I have died every time I've done it. I thought I had the strategy figured out - move to the outside of the room on Arcane Explosion, and stop moving completely during Flame Wreath. But I got aggro somehow near the start of the fight, and died from it pretty quickly. One day I'll do it and actually survive.. ><
I got some good gear from the Kara run. :) Bands of Nefarious Deeds from Maiden, Wicked Witch's Hat from Opera (we got Wizard of Oz again.. I've still never seen Romeo & Juliet :P) and Adornment of Stolen Souls from Prince. :D And a whole lotta badges. :)
Later on, I logged on Panacea again planning to just buy up some mats and make my Frozen Shadoweave Boots finally. But Verd was in a Magtheridon PuG, and asked in guild chat if either me or Help would be interested in joining it, as they needed a shadowpriest. I was dubious at first as Panacea is not really geared for Mags, but Help (who is less geared than Panacea, mostly in PvP gear) was starting to look like he was keen so I jumped in before he could. :P I was summoned into Mags - they'd cleared the way through up to him already. We wiped on the first attempt after getting him down to 25%. A couple of people left, and I got Yuge invited in to tank. On the second attempt, I was assigned backup clicking duty, which made me a bit nervous. But I worked my ass off, managed to stay alive through the entire fight while running back and forth to check on the clicker, getting out of fires and trying to stay in range of Mag to dps & put my all important VT on him. We managed to get him down. :D And then, amazingly, I managed to win the roll for his head with a roll of 99. xDDD So now I have a shiny new Band of Crimson Fury!
Afterwards I went back to my plan of buying up the mats for my boots (I farmed the netherweb spider silk for them though, as they are going for 11g a pop on the AH at the moment ><) and eventually made my Frozen Shadoweave Boots. ^o^
So yeh, a very successful day! 5 new epics, yays! xD Panacea is fast approaching Panadoll's gear level now. I am so glad I got to take her through Kara before the expansion.. and I never even dreamed I'd get her through Mags as well. :D

Panadoll was very generously given Pattern: Swiftheal Mantle by Lutzi a few days ago (apparently there were a couple of them in the guild bank). So I made these smexy shoulders ~

From what I've read (and there's quite a bit of conflicting info) it seems that these shoulders are not worth breaking the PMC set bonus for, until I get a few more armour upgrades (e.g. Belt of the Long Road, perhaps). They look cool though. :P

I have a habit of writing heaps of notes as I'm reading up on loots to look out for, things to farm for, talent builds, quest chains I wanna do, etc etc.. my desk is therefore covered in little bits of paper with said notes, mostly unorganised (though I've started using paperclips lately :D). Anyways.. it's all getting a bit much with two 70s.. so I'm going to attempt to organise my current Panacea goal lists here for my own reference (will strike them off as I get through them).

After a very generous donation of primal mooncloth from Yuge, today I made my robe and now I have 3/3 primal mooncloth set! xD Heals are now at 1287 (1235 unbuffed). Happy! I spent way too much monies today on gems though. ><
picture taken in front of the Dark Portal (on my way back from finishing off artisan fishing quest) to match my screenshot taken when I first entered Outland. So I've changed my icon accordingly. :D

bah, maintenance night. >_< I guess I am kinda glad that Blizzard doesn't usually take our oceanic servers down later on in the night - last week when they did that we got a huge influx of people at 8pm, making things pretty lagtastic.
Anyways. Panadoll got her Primal Mooncloth Shoulders yesterday! :D

I couldn't stomach the thought of farming the 8 primal lifes I needed for them (I've already farmed so many just to make the mooncloth), so I bought the damn things. :P I've made the gold back already with dailies, so it's not too bad. And I've saved myself hours of mind-numbing bog lords. :P Now I need to make the robe. Which requires 12 pieces of mooncloth.. that will take me about 18 days if I make it all myself. I really don't mind the wait though. I've accepted that it's going to take me ages to do all of the things I wanna do in WoW - saving up gold for epic mount & getting exalted with Sha'tari Skyguard in particular - and I have my little Panacea to turn to if I want a faster pace. :)
So Panadoll's heals are at 1200 now. :D Happy! Hopefully I'll get into another Kara soon. Where I could maybe.. just barely.. actually be useful as a healer. :P Yuge's gonna tank n bot for me next (hopefully tomorrow?) so I'm looking forward to that as well. :)
And just randomly - here's a screenie of Panacea dinging level 27 today (I has an addon that takes a screenshot every time I ding). Yay kill 20 Plague Spreaders quest. :3 ( screenshot )

So I have been neglecting this journal, and posting WoW things on my regular journal.. but my friends are probably getting a bit tired of it. :P
Panadoll has been level 70 for about a week or so. :D My guild (which is far more advanced than me) ran me through Kara on Friday night... I was terrified as I have very little instancing experience (my partner ran me through most instances as I was levelling) and no raiding experience. But since everyone else in the raid was way overgeared it was really easy and lots of fun. :D We got Wizard of Oz for Opera and I got Trial Fire Trousers :D Other Kara loots I got ~ Shining Chain of the Afterworld, Pauldrons of the Solace Giver, Boots of Foretelling (plus another pair of purple boots for my healing set - armory is showing my dps set at the moment), and Signet of Unshakeable Faith. I can't wait to go again. ^_^ I was terrible with overhealing last time around - we had an extremely overgeared healer with us (my irl friend who plays a priest called Lutzi) who could easily heal the entire raid alone.. almost every time I went to cast a heal he would beat me to it and I would overheal.. ^^;
I have Healbot installed now though. I love it so much. It makes healing a billion times easier. So perhaps I could possibly even be useful in Kara now. :P Last night I ran Shadow Labs with my partner (who plays a gnome warrior called Yuge, he's been 70 for a while now & is much better geared than me) and really used Healbot for the first time. I was nervous as I always am with an instance group (because I have so little experience and I don't want my noobishness to wipe the group) but Healbot made it so insanely easy to heal people and keep buffs up. :D There are lots of other instances I wanna do at the moment - Black Morass, Mechanar, Botanica, and Arcatraz mainly - and I'm actually confident I can heal them now... in normal mode anyways :P
Anyways this post is getting kinda long. :P So I shall leave you with a screenshot I took yesterday of someone I saw flying through Shat on the phoenix mount :O
( phoenix mount! wanty! )
