more raiding with Delusion :)

So late last night I gquit Twelve. It felt weird. But ultimately I think it's the best decision. Probably long overdue. Twelve just made me stress out too much.

I joined Delusion. I am loving this guild, the people are really funny & friendly. :) I went to Ob Sanctum with them tonight, where I was assigned to heal the main tank - i.e., left outside the drake portals alone with the MT. Was a little worried about that at first, but I kept the tank up fine. :) We downed all three drakes before the main boss, who was really easy too. I didn't win any loot from Sartharion, but it was a fun fight. :)

Afterwards we reformed the raid slightly and went on to continue Naxx. We did Gothik the Harvester from the Military Quarter, Grand Widow Faerlina from the Arachnid Quarter, and Gluth and Thaddius from the Construct Quarter. From Grand Widow Faerlina I got Sash of Mortal Desire, and Cowl of Sheet Lightning from Thaddius. Finally, epix! :D

Delusion dance off! )

I'm really enjoying raiding with Delusion. :) I've signed up for their next two Naxx raids. should be fun :D

ding 80 :D :D

It's been a crazy week of levelling. >< I was aiming for a level a day, which I managed to do, and last night Panadoll finally dinged level 80. ^o^ ding screenshot )

I'm pretty pleased that I managed to get to 80 in just over a week. I really would like to secure a raid spot for myself. Twelve has already started raiding, but I think it's just 10-man raiding.. I'm still not familiar with how the end-game raids work, but I assume there are 10-man & 25-man versions of all the raid instances, a bit like AQ? I'm also not familiar yet with the level 80 instances, or the higher level ones like Gundrak. I've only done Utgarde Keep, Nexus, Drak'Tharon Keep (probably my favourite so far), Azjol-Nerub and Ahn'kahet (which I wanna do again because I didn't finish a quest in there). I was so focused on questing that I didn't do anymore instances after that. The way I quested was Borean - Howling Fjord - Grizzly Hills - Dragonblight - Sholazar Basin - Zul'Drak - Stormpeaks. I was trying to get all the questing achievements in every zone, but gave up in Zul'Drak, because I was 79 by then and wasn't getting good xp from that zone. Stormpeaks was fun :D But my favourite zone is probably a toss up between Sholazar and Grizzly.

The first thing I did after hitting 80 was head to SW and respec. I respecced disc to level, which was fun & definitely made things a bit easier. But it did make healing a little more difficult (I had a bad experience trying to keep up with healing a death knight tank ><) and I like being a holy priest.. so I respecced back. I did some reading first. I'm not particularly fond of a lot of the standard holy builds that are out there.. and I also don't like all the crazy specs I found (shadow/holy.. hmmm). I still like the idea of being holy with some points in disc, although I've heard that DS isn't as important anymore, and impDS isn't worth speccing into at all. I decided to create my own build, and this is what I came up with. DS and CoH.. lol. xD I've never actually used CoH before, but it seems pretty OPawesome. I replaced my healbot click for Prayer of Healing with CoH.

Panadoll looks a little different from this now (slight change in the pattern of the robe & helm :P) but this is how she looked through most of the levelling ~

a few more random screens )

oh yeh.. finally bought my epic flying so I could use my netherray. xD It was actually one of the very first things I did when I got the expansion, and realised that the cost of epic flying wasn't being lowered. :P

omg WotLK, WotLK omg

So Yuge & I went to a midnight launch of WotLK (with our daughter in tow wearing her 'Nooblet' shirt ^_^), picked up our collector's editions & went home to play. I haven't been doing much besides playing since then, except for breaks to eat/sleep/look after Pandora. I wouldn't be writing here at all if it wasn't for Queue of Doom, lol (currently at 853 ><). Panadoll is now level 72 & has her Nothing Boring About Borean achievement. :D I've done both Nexus and UK twice, and right now I'm a couple of bars off 73 & questing in Howling Fjord. ^_^ I am amazed at how fast some of the other people in my guild are levelling.. the highest person is on 77 atm. o_o I've respecced Panadoll disc, which I'm still getting used to, but my DPS is better so I can get stuff done faster. Overall I'm liking the change (but missing my Spirit of Redemption form a bit :P).

Most annoying quest so far, due to high number of people trying to do it & all the ganking going on, was the saving murloc tadpoles quest. I got it done in the end though :P

I also mucked around with a DK a little bit.. not for longer than 10min. The DK starting area is a bit confronting. *_* I didn't particularly like the killing villagers quest, lol. :P My DK's name is Panademic. (I wanted Pandemic, but it was taken qq.)

Patch!

So... Patch of Doom! Yays!

I've been having fun with all the changes, after I sorted out my UI anyways. When I first logged in yesterday, all my addons were broken (obviously) and it took me a long time to download updated versions, and replace obsolete ones, and add some new ones. My new UI is now working (and in a lot of ways better) but there are still some addons I'm missing (no updated version of my five second bar QQ). I had some trouble at first with my cast bar, which was completely missing, preventing me from going & trying out my new specs. I have now installed Quartz however, which is all sorts of goodness. :)

So the first thing I did yesterday, when I still didn't have a cast bar, was to change Panacea's hair. She now looks like this ~

It's similar to her old headband hairstyle, and the same colour, but it's like she's straightened her hair. I also changed her horns slightly to make them look a little more delicate. I'm really loving the change. ^_^ I didn't change Panadoll's hairstyle/colour or facial markings at all, because honestly I hate all the other nelf hairstyles and I've always quite liked her look. :)

I also spent my cast bar-less time levelling Inscription on Panacea. I dropped Herbalism for it, and very stupidly didn't go out and farm low level herbs beforehand. >< I do have a lot of higher level herbs stockpiled though. I managed to get her Inscription up to 100. Glyphs are selling quite well on the AH at the moment, which is good because my toons need all the cash they can get. But it's kinda negated by all the monies Panacea had to spend on the herbs, bah. ><

Tonight I perfected Panadoll's UI (well, as perfect as it can get until some more of my favourite addons are updated). I've still got a few kinks to work out in Panacea's UI. Here's a pic of Panadoll's at the moment ~ under here )

The most annoying thing at the moment is the lack of updated FuBar plugins, but a couple of my favourite ones (FactionsFu and MoneyFu) still seem to be working after the patch, so I'm content for now. I also installed MikScrollingBattleText (as you can see in the screenshot) and a couple of other nice mods - in particular I replaced the obsolete Bongos2 with Bartender 4, which I'm really liking. I was getting a little sick of my Hello Kitty buttons anyways. :P

I have new lists in my head now of things I want to do on both Panadoll and Panacea before WotLK hits (Achievements are fun!) but it's late so I won't list them here now. Mostly they revolve around Panacea grinding up heaps of gold for both toons (because she can do it a lot more quickly and easily than Panadoll can :P).

In other news, my brother got an albino drake! :O screenshot )

instancing fun

Yesterday I got Panacea's tailoring up to where I could spec shadoweave, and managed to make her Frozen Shadoweave Shoulders (by buying up many primals & a couple of shadoweaves :P). They look pretty good. :D

crappy screenshots, and you can't really see them due to shadowform goodness, but you get the idea ~

I took the second one when I went over to Feralas earlier tonight to level up my cooking & fishing.. just cos I took a screenshot of Panadoll in the same place when she was running to help Panacea back in the day (in this post) :P

I want to get my FSW set together asap, cos I know having it will be the best chance I'll have for Panacea to do Kara before WotLK hits. :P With my two 70 toons and their hard working bank alts I have a lot more monies now, so it shouldn't be too hard to get the set together.. I foresee the buying of many primals. ><

Panacea went to Mana Tombs last night. I'd never been there before, and it was easy & fun. :) There were two guildless peoples in the group, so I invited them to SotM.. ended up being almost a guild run. :P

screenshot from Mana Tombs )

Tonight I had a plan to go over to CoT, do the following-around-and-hearing-CoT-story bit, then try to find a group for Durnholde while levelling my fishing and cooking in Feralas. Unfortunately nobody was interested in doing Durnholde tonight apparently. I put myself in LFG for Sethekk Halls as well, but nobody seemed interested in that either. :( Eventually (rather quickly actually :P) I got sick of fishing, hearthed and headed over to Nagrand to grind ogres for Kurenai rep and be on the lookout for Halaa raiding (I want the black war talbuk for Panacea). Horde picked on me as I was trying to grind ogres. :( Some level 68 tauren attacked & killed me while I was killing ogres, then when I ressed, killed him and camped him in annoyance he called in a netherdrake mounted 70 undead rogue to prevent me from doing anything productive at all. >< It was about this time though, that someone finally invited me to a group for Sethekk Halls. We had a lot of trouble finding a tank (as per usual, arrgh) but finally Yuge said he would tank for us, even though he was in line to tank Sunwell (*infinite thanks to Yugeeee*).

I enjoyed Sethekk Halls very much. It was my first time there also. I really liked being able to do some CC (shackle, yay!) and I got some quests done. Was fun. :) I still really want to do Durnholde though.. and I'm not quite sure of the next instance I should focus on.. maybe Mech or Slabs or something..

70!!!

Finally Panacea dinged 70 today! :D

Helpfulness beat me to 70, he dinged earlier in the afternoon, which spurred me on to level the last little bit asap. :P There followed... DING 70 PARTY TIEMZ! )

Panadoll's play time 1-70: 13 days, 17 hours, 23 minutes, 32 seconds
Panacea's play time 1-70: 10 days, 17 hours, 26 minutes, 56 seconds

so clossssse...

I found it pretty boring levelling through Terrokar, Nagrand, and Blades Edge Mountains, because it seems like such a short time ago that I did all the quests on Panadoll. I got through all the quests a lot quicker because I knew what I was doing but.. after I finished BEM, at level 68, I was kinda not really into the idea of going on to Netherstorm. So I decided to go level in Shadowmoon Valley - Panadoll never did any of the quests there, besides the Netherwing ones. Since I moved over there I've been enjoying myself a lot more. It's a bit slower going, but everything is new and interesting. You get to know a place a lot better when you're limited to a ground mount. :P

So Panacea is halfway through level 69 now. So close to 70! I believe I will ding this weekend. :D Running a bit low on quests though. I hope I can ding in Shadowmoon. I've also been helping out guildies a bit, running UB with Deatharra and her 70 holy priest partner (who is up to the same raiding content as Panadoll, but a bit better geared) with Yuge tanking cos tanks are still so hard to find on our server. :( Also tomorrow night I've got to do a run of VC for lowbies in the guild, which will cut into my racing-to-70 time, but people were begging and I want to be a good guild officer. :P

Shadowmoon shenanigans )

tonight's UB run )

There's another shadowpriest in the guild, called Helpfulness (also an officer), who I've been sort of "racing" to 70 since we were level 64 or so (he's level 68 atm). I quite like this guy.. he knows what he's doing even though I think it's his first toon, and he levels at a pace similar to my own, unlike most of the other people in the guild who generally level a lot slower. Would be good I suppose if he was planning to turn holy at 70 (cos we have no holy priests) but he's pretty set on staying shadow I think - already getting together his FSW set, which is ahead of me (I haven't quite got my tailoring up to speccing shadowweave). Two skilled shadowpriests in a guild is a good thing to have though right? :D We do however have a severe lack of tankage in the guild. :( I'm hoping once all these 60-somethings hit 70 we'll be better able to entice more 70s into the guild for endgame content though.

maintenance night = update time :P

I've been very busy with Panacea lately. Mainly cos I've become very involved in her guild, Spirits of the Moon. I'm really becoming quite fond of the guild.. there's a core group of people that are online every day and we're all very friendly with each other. It's nice to log on and have four or five people immediately say "hi Pan!" lol. I've never been in a guild like this before - and never really made friends through the game before - so this is all new & cool to me. :) It's very different from Panadoll's guild, Twelve.. mainly because, the people in SotM are generally friendlier.. and people in Twelve are much more skilled at playing WoW (and far more progressed, obviously). I won't be taking Panadoll out of Twelve because, despite SotM's big plans to raid and do endgame stuff in the future, realistically I know that Panadoll will have a far greater chance to progress being in Twelve, even though she's at the bottom of the heap. :P At the same time though, I am getting a lot of enjoyment out of being one of the more knowledgable players in SotM, being an officer and having a say in how things are run. It's very different!

I'm particularly loving the way these rambling, silly conversations happen in guild chat all the time.. makes doing all these quests for the second time a bit less boring. :P Some examples...

Iamleo posted a picture of himself on the forums, with his 'Elvis' hair :P

We had an officer meeting in the Goldshire inn the other night. I went along thinking "hmm, wonder what we'll discuss?" We decided on a few things, including "raid" nights - 9pm Wednesdays and 4pm Saturdays, in which we shall raid Horde towns, lol :P Also we decided on Sundays being the day to run lowbies through instances, and other similar things... I kinda felt like I was witnessing the very beginnings of a future well organised and progressive guild. Everyone seems to be quite committed to getting all our toons to 70 and starting endgame content, and I think we'll do well when WotLK hits. :)

enough rambling about the guild, lol. In other news, Yuge and Panadoll took a short trip to ZG the other day. :D We snuck past everything like ninjas to Gahz'ranka, who, after several attempts due to him resetting, we killed. Took half an hour to get him down.. most boring healing evar. >< He didn't drop Tome of Polymorph: Turtle unfortunately, just some crap that got de'd into other crap. We attempted the tiger boss after that, with the flimsy strategy of me staying up on the hill out of the way and not doing anything unless Yuge hit his panic button, but the mobs on Yuge stunned him at some point and immediately aggroed on me.. I died & popped into Spirit of Redemption form in mid-air falling down off the hill. :D We gave up on it after that, having other things to do with our time. :P We'll probably be going back again though.

This evening I was all set for a night of levelling Panacea, but when I logged on I discovered a guild event was about to happen, involving hide & seek in Elwynn Forest. Dubious at first, I went down there to have a look. Fun times ensued! xD

/wave to any guildies who've come to see the screenshots! :D

Underbog & Slave Pens

  • Sep. 16th, 2008 at 9:42 AM
panadoll ulduar
Panacea finally managed to find a group keen to do both Underbog and Slave Pens last night. The only trouble was, we couldn't find a tank - of course. Why is it always so hard to find a tank?? Also I did say I'd prefer to dps but when a fourth dps was invited I said "..guess I'm on heals then?" "Oh you don't mind do you?" >< I don't mind being on heals but I'm nervous about Panacea's ability to heal Outland instances effectively. Her +heals are at 424 now.. not too shabby, but still makes me nervous.

After ages spent trying to find a damn tank, I asked Yuge if he'd help us out. Luckily he was just doing dailies & not busy with raiding. He wanted to finish off his dailies first, and the group was more than happy to wait for a 70 warrior tank. :) When we all finally gathered to do Underbog first, after the first couple of mobs I was like "So I'm gonna try healing with VE for a bit, k?" Yuge was keeping all the aggro and hardly taking any damage, so it seemed redundant to stand around just chucking him a renew now & then. VE healed the group pretty well, even when other people took damage. I also popped out of shadowform now & then to heal in emergencies (usually halfway through bosses) which I realised was probably really good practise in multitasking in an instance - not just sticking to my rotation like a robot. Trying to dps and keep an eye on healing at the same time made being "run through" by Yuge pretty much as challenging and interesting as being on pure dps or heals with a normal group. :)

Absolutely nothing good dropped for Panacea in either instance. :( It was all tanking gear. But I did get my two Sporeggar quests done, and also dinged 64. One of the quest rewards was Cenarion Ring of Casting, which is pretty nice. :)

Here are a few UB & SP screenshots )

lots & lots & lots of questing >

  • Sep. 11th, 2008 at 11:58 PM
panadoll ulduar
Panacea's been doing billions of Zangar quests today. I've almost finished them all, in fact.. just got some Sporeggar ones to go. Tonight I was waiting around for ages for Twelve's Black Temple raid to finish, in the hope that Yuge would tank Blood Furnace for me. But he went offline at some point & I didn't notice. >< Probably went to sleep. Anyways. I flew over to Hellfire to see if I could do the PVP daily, and someone was asking for one more for Ramps. I thought "what the hell" and joined the group. It's a rare thing to see a group that already has a tank & healer. :P

This PuG was really, really awesome. :O The group leader was a warrior tank who seemed quite experienced with the instance.. in fact everyone seemed to know what they were doing. We breezed through the trash - not quite as easily as with Yuge tanking, but still pretty fast. :) On the first boss though, the boss died just after the whole group wiped, and we didn't get any loot. Which sucked! I wanted Pauldrons of Arcane Rage. Oh well.. the druid in the group left & we got in a hunter. For the rest of the run this hunter and I competed for the top of the dps charts. :P The mage in our group wasn't so great with the dps but he was good with sheeping. :) A neck dropped off the second boss that the warrior needed (I've already got my staff from him) then we continued to Vazruden and Nazan. On the first attempt we killed the ogre but wiped on the dragon - the tank died from his fire damage. The second attempt, the warrior died from the dragon's fire damage again but it was closer to the end of the fight and we managed to dps him to death. :D The ring I was looking out for didn't drop, so I didn't get any good loots out of the whole run.. but I think it was good practise and I'm glad I got to be part of a successful PuG of the place. :)

A screenshot of Panacea melting face in Ramps.. taken when I'd just overtaken the hunter in dps, heh. :P under here )

what, an awesome PuG? for ST??

  • Sep. 5th, 2008 at 12:26 PM
panadoll ulduar
Panacea got into the most awesome PuG last night, for ST of all places. :O I'm finding as I'm doing these higher level instances, people don't want me for heals as much - which is good! But I'm also finding that the locks and mages are getting their act together now and beating me at dps. :P

So I dpsed my way through ST. It was lots of fun, even though I was lagging a bit. Everyone in the group was familiar with the place and knew what they were doing, so we got through relatively quickly and I got all my quests out of the way. :D They were friendly people too.. always nice when the group not only knows what they're doing but also isn't super serious. :)

I tried going to BRD a couple of days ago. It wasn't very successful. We spent like an hour looking for a tank, til in frustration I asked Yuge if he could come tank - breaking my rule of not letting Panacea be helped in any way by Yuge. >< But we didn't get very far into the instance before the group fell apart after a wipe, and I didn't get any quests completed. So I'm not going to count Yuge's involvement. :P Man BRD is a boring instance. I'd never been there before, and I don't think I'll be going back.

A week or so ago Panacea joined a cute little levelling guild called Spirits of the Moon. It's run by a lovely lady who has two toons, currently levels 49 and 59 I think. She's very friendly and helpful, as are a number of other people in the guild. The guild has, surprisingly, a number of 70s, as well as 60-somethings. But it's just a levelling guild for now, they don't raid, though they have plans to raid in the future apparently. I'm enjoying being in the guild as there are quite a lot of people around my level. I hoping we'll all get to 70 around the same time, then we'd have almost enough for a Kara raid. :)

anyways, what would an entry be from me without screenshots :PPP~ Here's ST and some random shots from Silithus )

Panacea's recent adventures

  • Sep. 1st, 2008 at 12:20 PM
panadoll ulduar
Panacea dinged level 50 last night. :D Not long til Outland!

Over the last few days I've taken her to ZF. The first group I was in was quite good and they let me dps. But we only ran the first couple of bosses, twice, because our tank wanted something off the first boss (which didn't drop). I was a little disappointed cos it was a pretty good group. The next group I joined looked like it was shaping up well until a 70 joined. I am trying to level up Panacea without any help from higher level characters, or being run through things, so this was annoying. But I stayed with the group because they needed the mallet and I was the only one with it (I got the mallet by myself. It's so much easier now that getting it doesn't involve killing elites :D). So although the run was very fast and I got a couple of quests out of the way, it didn't do much for my instance skills.

The last group I joined was pretty good. At first I thought I was going to have to heal, cos there was another priest in our group with higher shadow damage than me. But they went offline and didn't come back, so we had to get in another person, who happened to be a resto druid. :D The run went quite well, and I was always at the top of the dps charts, which made me happy. Our tank (and group leader) was a bit obsessive about the dps charts though and kept posting them and berating the lock in our group who kept coming last.. I felt sorry for her, cos it was obvious she was kinda new (she didn't know what AOE was, and we had to ask her to take her imp out for blood pact) and she was trying her best. The tank was also annoying because he never stopped to let us drink. The healer was almost constantly at below 30% mana.. if it had been me healing like that I would have yelled at him, as it was nobody said anything and just tried to drink whenever they could. I think the tank thought he was invincible or something - a couple of times when we were all sitting and drinking he'd run off and start aggroing the next group of mobs. Annoying. And then at the end, he asked if anyone needed Gahzrilla and when nobody said anything after like a second, he said "well I'm out" and ran out. We were all left standing there - we wanted to do the last boss. He told us we could do it if we wanted to.. er, without a tank? no thanks. Anyways, I got all my quests finished up, so no more ZF for me. :)

I wasn't quite sure where to go to quest after that (since I'm trying to avoid Tanaris/Ungoro). I went to Felwood to have a look around, but most of the quests were a little too high for me at level 49. Then I remembered Searing Gorge. :D I haven't been there since my very first toon, Jeski the hunter, who I played a few years ago and only ever got up to level 55. So I took Panacea over there and had lots of nostalgic fun.

I'm quite liking mind control now. :P I'm still getting used to it, but I think I should learn how to use it properly as it's my only form of CC. Instances are usually so fast paced and people forget that priests can mind control, so I'm not sure if I'll need to use it, but if I'm asked to use it it will be good to know how.

Gruuls & Mags

panadoll ulduar
Tonight Panadoll made her first foray into Gruul's & Magtheridon's respective lairs. I've never been in such a big raid before.. I need to figure out if Healbot can be configured to show everyone in two columns, cos as it was Healbot reached just about from the top of my screen to the bottom. :P

The raid was mostly Twelve with a few people pugged from other high end raiding guilds, and a couple of randoms. Gruuls did not start well.. we wiped on the first boss like four or five times due to silly things like the dps pulling before the mage tank started. We did get him down though when everyone stopped mucking around. I was nervous when we reached Gruul, cos I hadn't had a chance to read up on the fight (or on Mag) and I died almost instantaneously at the first shatter. We wiped on the first attempt, but easily took him down on the second attempt. I did much better with staying with my assigned group and getting away from people after the shatters. :)

We one-shotted Mag after that. I was assigned a target to heal by myself and just healed them industriously mostly. It was a complicated fight and I didn't really know what was going on.. I felt like I wasn't doing enough as the people taking damage (apart from my target) were all out of my range, and afterwards I was at the bottom of the healing chart that someone posted. :( But I think I did what I was supposed to do. :P

So.. successful runs, though I didn't get anything out of them other than badges and experience. Glad I got to see this stuff before WotLK though. :)

coming back from brief hiatus :)

I've been taking a short break from WoW.. I was getting a little burnt out, as I usually do when I play too much. :P Break was a good idea as my house is now clean & organised and I'm just starting to get interested in playing again. damn you maintenance night! :P

So, Panacea ran Ulda last night. I had to heal, but such is the life of a levelling shadowpriest. It was pretty boring tbh.. I wasn't paying much attention because our group was a little high for the instance and healing them was too easy. I should have asked if they'd be ok with me healing with just VE. Anyways, because I wasn't concentrating all that much, I did fuck up once, when I got caught in some whirlwind thing which interrupted my heals, and was a bitch to get out of. Our tank was a pally though and healed himself, so no harm done.

Today I went back to Ulda and finished up all the quests I had to do outside the instance. I remember them being a lot harder pre-BC on my hunter.. the mobs might have been elites back then? Anyways I got them done pretty quickly, then headed over to Theramore to visit Nat Pagle and grab the artisan fishing quest. On my way through Feralas I decided to look for the sprite darter pet quest chain. I've never done it before, I've only read about it. The quest giver was a bit hard to find but the first couple of quests weren't that hard, as there was a nice level ?? tauren going around killing things for me. :D

Lots of good stuff happened today! :D

This evening Lutzi (on Fuzo) wanted to go back and finish off the Kara we did on Saturday night, before it reset. Yay for no maintenance tonight! :D Yuge was set to come too, but his computer crashed before invites went out, and he had to spend the next 3 hours reinstalling Windows, which sucked. But I nervously asked Lutzi if I would be welcome to come along to Kara anyway, and he invited me. :) He's my friend but it was still kinda generous on his part, as he was looking for really good (i.e. t6) healers to speed up the run.. and I am not one of those. :P At first, waiting around outside Kara, I wasn't sure we'd actually go ahead with it, because we were having a lot of trouble convincing the uber healers of Twelve to come along. But eventually awesometastic druid Bearilic and awesometastic priest Empithy agreed to join us. There was no way I could possibly keep up with their heals.. i.e....

I have not done any research on any of the Kara bosses after Nightbane, so my strategy was just to stick to the other healers like glue and heal & dispel as best I could. Nightbane (which, you may recall, we wiped on numerous times in the last run) went down extremely easily - the difference in the level of the group was plain to see. I relaxed a bit after that. :P The following bosses were not so difficult for me, apart from Shade of Aran, a fight which was just confusing. I need to read up on it to figure out what was going on. At one point I moved, a second after someone told us not to move on Vent, and was tossed up in the air. There were lots of Vent comments after that of a "who moved?" "who's the noob?" variety. >< So yes.. definitely gonna read up on Aran. I did do better than the first time I was at that boss - where I died instantaneously and just watched the rest of the fight. At least I didn't die this time. :P

I also want to read up on Chess, cos I really have no idea what is going on there. :P

I was hoping for a t4 helm drop from Prince, but didn't get it. :( I did however get Pantaloons of Repentance from Netherspite. :D And after the raid was over, I discovered that I now had 50 badges, so I spent them on Cowl of Naaru Blessings. :D No more Red Pointy Hat of fail, finally! That's my last green item gone. :D I gemmed up the new gear and now my heals are at an awesome 1335 (almost leet, heh). xD Yayyy~!

Here's my new hat!

In Panacea news, she dinged level 40 today! :D I respecced her also, and put all her points into shadow (I am too impatient to wait another 10 levels for shadowform :P). I'm thinking I'll put points for the next few levels back into disc.

Panacea joined a group for SM arms today. I told the group when I joined that I was happy to heal if needed, but I'd prefer to dps if at all possible. The group leader told me flat out "you heal". >< It was easy enough, even though a couple people in the group were a bit low level for it (early 30's) and I got the annoying "wand please" from the group leader (errrghhhh... no) but I really would like to have a chance at dpsing an instance sometime. :-/ I'll be running SM more in the next few days so hopefully I'll get a group who will let me.

After a very generous donation of primal mooncloth from Yuge, today I made my robe and now I have 3/3 primal mooncloth set! xD Heals are now at 1287 (1235 unbuffed). Happy! I spent way too much monies today on gems though. ><

Panadoll did some more Kara tonight. :D Lutzi's alt Fuzo needed a run through. So this was the first time I've done Kara without Lutzi's heals.. I was kinda nervous, but I'm a bit more confident in my skills now.

We did pretty well at first. We had another priest (Seraphe) as the main healer (I think he has around 1350 heals) and a druid healer (Snippd) as well. I found I could hold my own pretty well though and often topped the healing charts ~

I got Gloves of Saintly Blessings off the first boss (Attumen) which I was very pleased with. :3 On Moroes, I was all ready to shackle away but when I made a slight error in timing, my shackle broke and I got killed by the target pretty quickly. We wiped. :-/ On Vent people were asking if I was ok with shackling and I was like >___< yess.. I just made a mistake that time. :P The second time I kept my target shackled up until after Moroes went down - it didn't break once. :)

I was especially pleased with myself this time around, for not dying during Maiden. :D I had read up on the fight, so knew what to expect and what I was supposed to be doing. I did pretty well dispelling and keeping everyone in range.. it was a big success. ^_^

We got Red Riding Hood for Opera. This is the one I've most been wanting to see, so I was like yay!! x3 It was much easier than Wizard of Oz. I got turned into Red Riding Hood once and I think I was the only one of us who actually survived the experience, lol. Seraphe died twice during the fight, and Snippd died once as well, but I managed to heal through. :D

Nightbane was where we hit problems. Our dps wasn't that great, and we wiped numerous times. I'm quite sure it wasn't a problem with the heals at all. I had also read up on this fight so I knew what I was supposed to be doing - much different from my first experience (where I just ran around madly trying to stay close to Lutzi :P). Seraphe and I did ok keeping fear wards on Yuge.. but because the dps was lacking - unable to get rid of all the adds, etc - we both died and were b-rezzed a few times. In the end we gave up - and someone (who sounded kinda pissed off) said on Vent that if people didn't know the fight they shouldn't be attempting it, and other stuff.. which made me feel a bit insecure but really, I'm pretty sure I was personally doing ok.

Overall I am quite pleased with how this Kara went. :D I got loot, badges, rep & raid healing experience. Yays :3

edit// oh yeh! I also got Pattern: Soulcloth Vest in Kara, as a random drop. :D Yay for my first epic tailoring pattern!

My friend, who I sent a trial key to recently (in order to get funky zhevra mount), has installed a retail copy of the game and created a toon on my server yesterday. :D His warlock's name is Pinkdrink - a female gnome with pink pigtails, like Yuge. Yuge and I both (seperately) went to meet him in the Dun Morogh starting area to show off our mounts and a whole heap of emotes. :P Later on I met up with him (he had moved on to Kharanos) to give him some gifts.. four netherweave bags and 50g. I'm not sure if he really appreciated the value of the bags and the gold, but I like helping out. :) I also later sent him a few low level crafted items - warlock appropriate tailored stuff and a couple of wands. He seems to be liking the game so far. He's used to playing EVE Online, so although he's familiar with MMORPGs, WoW is all new to him.. I've been giving him a lot of advice. I sort of can't wait to run him through VC. :3 I also can't wait for my zhevra mount! He will have to pay for 2 months of subscription time before I get it.. but I have sent him a 60 day prepaid card so it should happen soon. :)

I got an opportunity yesterday to take Panadoll through Caverns of Time - Durnholde and Black Morass. I was really nervous, because two of the best holy priests in Twelve, Lutzi (on his lock alt Fuzo) and Konstantine (on her druid alt Bahedrin) were in the group. So much pressure not to do anything stupid! >< Yuge tanked for us. We were all on Vent, which was interesting.. I haven't been on Vent in a 5-man before. It was pretty relaxed. :) Durnholde went well, but afterwards I discovered I hadn't talked to Thrall in the dungeon, and therefore didn't complete the quest chain to allow access to Black Morass. So embarrassing. >< Yuge, Lutzi and Konstantine were fine to go do Durnholde again but the mage (Magpie, also in Twelve) sounded kinda pissed off and said he had to leave, so we found a random rogue to join us.

Waiting outside Durnholde the second time around, with Yuge :P ~

The second time around went well also. It was a little difficult trying to keep an eye on healing Thrall as well as the others, but nothing I couldn't manage. Black Morass was something different altogether. Afterwards I said to Yuge "Why did nobody WARN me??" It was crazy. Constant running & chain pulling, constant need for heals and dispelling - on both the tank and druid off-tank. Lucky I brought lots of pots too cos I had mana issues a couple of times, even with innervates. But nobody died, so I think I did pretty well. :) And I think it was probably good practise for raid healing. I can't imagine what that instance must be like on heroic though. ><

In other news, Panadoll has finally started the artisan fishing quest. :P Gah I hate this quest so much. It's so boring.. and while I'm fishing I'm always standing there wondering how much gold I could be making if I was spending the time doing dailies. :P It shall be worth it when I can do fishing dailies though. :)

And to finish off this very long entry.. here are a couple of screenshots of Panacea being silly with random people.. clicky )

more productiveness

:P in other news...

Yuge tanked n Steamvaults for me tonight, so I could get the other bit of my Kara key. Our group was a bit overgeared so it went pretty fast. There was a (very vocal) holy pally in the group, who kinda off-healed.. it puts me off when there's another healer in the group. :P I worry more about doing stupid stuff and overhealing. The whole group talked a lot during the run which also put me off a bit. I made a few mistakes.. like on the first boss, I concentrated too much on Healbot rather than the AoE, and died. On the last boss I didn't get a heal out quick enough to Yuge and we wiped. I'm not sure if it was entirely my fault or whether there were other factors involved, but I felt pretty bad about it. Meanwhile, I hate having a warlock in the party, lol. >< The way they nibble away at their health makes me nervous, and causes me to sometimes panic if their health seems to be getting too low when I need to be concentrating on people actually with aggro. I wish Prayer of Mending dinged off them when they nibbled at their health.. they're more of a PoM black hole than I am. :P

Panacea is coming along well, she's recently dinged level 35, and has just moved on to Dustwallow Marsh. I like the quests there.. there's heaps of them around the same level all concentrated in the one area, and it's much easier to do them now with a mount. Should be getting up to 40 in no time. :)
